Michael Firestone is a member of the The Vaccine Injured Petitioners Bar Association (VIP Bar) which is committed to the improvement of the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) for the petitioners who file claims in that program.

As an associate attorney at The Law Firm of Marvin Firestone, MD•JD, & Associates, LLP, Michael practices in the areas of medical law, administrative law, and business law. Michael's representation focuses on protecting health care professionals from Medical Board disciplinary actions, medical staff privilege matters, health care employment contracts, and medical business transactions.

Michael currently serves on the Medical Legal Liaison Committee for the San Mateo County Bar Association.

Michael is a member of the California Academy of Attorneys for Health Care Professionals, a private practice attorney group focused on healthcare professional issues involving peer review and discipline.  He is also a member of the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys.

Michael also works with the Western Institute of Legal Medicine, a non-profit organization dedicated to the education of professionals in Medicine and the Law.

Michael was graduated from Santa Clara University’s rigorous JD/MBA joint degree graduate program where he completed the specialized High Tech Law Certificate program with an emphasis in Corporate Transactions and also earned an MBA in Finance.

He was the recipient of several merit-based awards, including three Witkin Awards for the highest grade in the class in Advanced Corporations Law, Administrative Law, and Entertainment & New Media Law.  He also received the Santa Clara University, Emery Scholarship, which is awarded on the basis of academic achievement and professional promise.  

Michael was elected President of the Santa Clara Law and Business Club in 2009 and again in 2010. Additionally, he served as a Technical Editor for the Santa Clara Computer and High Tech Law Journal.

While completing law school he interned at the cloud-computing technology leader Salesforce.com where he worked on a wide range of legal issues, including, contract negotiation, sales and procurement contract drafting/editing, global data privacy law, employment law, and warranty law.

Michael's undergraduate degree in economics with a business emphasis has helped him to develop strong analytic and creative problem solving skills.

Michael is a licensed attorney in the state of California as an admitted member of the California Bar.
